SE1 London is the hottest food destination in London, and we are so honoured to be the lead hospitality leasing agency on the scene, working with both Mark Capital on Borough Yards since the schemes commencement, and Borough Market Trust on Borough Market. We are so proud of how the Distrkt team have helped curate this corner of London!
MARK Capital Management's main focus of the Borough Yards scheme was to deliver a new dining, shopping and cultural destination through the rejuvenation of the historic Victorian railway heritage. Today these stunning arches are home to some of the most exciting restaurants in London, as well as providing an immense sense of character throughout the scheme.
The positioning of the arches at Borough Yards have helped split the scheme into three distinct dining areas. The first being Stoney Street, where the arches are home to warehouse dining destinations including modern food & wine bar Vinoteca, London’s favourite fresh pasta restaurant Bancone, and Akara, critically acclaimed sister restaurant to Michelin Starred Akoko in Fitzrovia, described by Jimi Famurewa as 'a swaggering step forward for contemporary West African dining'. Inception group join this run of restaurants this month with their 1940’s post office-themed cocktail bar delivering first class cocktails in true Cahoots fashion!
The main entrance of Borough Yards, Soap Yard and Dirty Lane uses the arches to provide a year-round alfresco dining ambience in the centre of the scheme. You are welcomed by Café Francois, our most recent opening by Francois O’Neill and Ed Wyand, the founders of Maison Francois. The all-day French inspired brasserie has taken London's food scene by storm and has been called 'a new London landmark' by Grace Dent! The Harts Group, the first tenants to open in Borough Yards in 2022, have led the charge on the alfresco dining scene occupying three arches for Parrillan, Barrafina and Bar Daskal, all three concepts offer the variety of exceptional Spanish food and wine that the group is so well known for. Brother Marcus completes this set of restaurants, with their effortlessly cool alfresco ambience, and the flavours of the Eastern Mediterranean inspiring their sharing plates and cocktails from morning to evening.
Finally, Bank End is home to a series of smaller arches and a row of casual dining concepts. We are excited to announce new openings here, joining Burger & Beyond to complete the scheme’s casual dining portfolio. The Chamling sisters selected Borough Yards as the location for their first restaurant, Eat Momo, serving Nepali-style dumplings and opened this summer. Opening later this year is both Quill, a 'decadent wine bar dedicated to frivolity' from the team behind Plume and Grays & Feather, and Angry Crab Shack, a unique shared dining experience blending the bold flavours Asian cuisine with seafood boil.
We are thrilled to see Borough Yards become a thriving hub of unique flavours and best restaurants in London!
