The Relationship Between Art and Dining

Frieze takes centre stage in London annually in October and is one of the world’s most influential art fairs not only showcasing cutting-edge artworks but also exceptional cuisine, highlighting the relationship between art and dining in London's vibrant gallery scene. Since the Covid 19 pandemic, there has been a growing demand for experiential outings which marries art and dining, the city's cultural venues have been working hard to better intertwine the two. Places like the National Theatre with the opening of Peckham's favourite Forza Wine last year, Ochre at the National Gallery, Jose Pizarro at The Royal Academy of Art, and Daisy Green at the National Portrait Gallery.

Distrkt are proud to contribute to this cultural repositioning by working on behalf of Somerset House and Serpentine Galleries to enhance the F&B offering in their iconic venues. We have been working with Somerset House on an exciting marketing campaign and have recently completed lettings to Café Petiole by chef Rishim Sachdeva of Tendril, and Future Plate, who have created a collaborative kitchen hub for creative menu exploration and a chef academy, with more announcements to come soon.

Over at Hyde Park we will soon be welcoming a brand-new café operator to the stunning Zaha Hadid designed restaurant space at Serpentine North Gallery, Kensington Gardens, just in time for the events of Frieze.

We are beyond thrilled to celebrate the relationship between the beauty of both food and art through our work in this sector.

We look forward to taking in great art alongside great food and exploring the impressive dining offerings that Frieze has to offer this year, including the Maison Francois and Sessions Arts Club pop-ups at The Regents Park, alongside food from Bao, Rita’s, Jikoni and more.
